These are the recommended steps to becoming a new member. However, new members are welcomed throughout the academic year. Feel free to stop by any meeting early and talk to our staff!
Informationals are a great way to find out more about what our organization is all about.
Fall 2019 informationals are on August 28th and 29th from 7:00 to 8:10 PM in the Memorial Student Center (MSC)
For more information about the organization, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or check out this video.
CEL is a non-selective organization, but we do have an application to get to know our new members. CEL accepts applications throughout the year, but please submit your application before 11:59 PM on September 9th, so it can be processed before the New Engineering Member Orientation (NEMOs).
Download and fill out this application
Email your completed application to email@example.com
3. New Engineering Member Orientations
New Engineering Member Orientations (NEMOs) allow our staff members to get to know new members better and help us match new members to a committee within the organization. This fall, NEMOs will be the week of September 9th, and the location will be given as you sign up. However, if you apply after this date, we still want to get to know you. After you submit an application, we will reach out to you to in order to schedule a time that works for both parties.
4. Begin Attending Meetings and Events
Our meetings are on Monday nights from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. in the Emerging Technologies Building (ETB) room 1020. During meetings, we will start by going over a general list of announcements to keep everyone up to date. We will then head into a time of worship, and afterwards hear from a speaker about something relevant to us as Christians and Engineers. We will then wrap things up by going into committee time, where we discuss and plan our various activities. If you are not in a committee, go and talk to the Membership Development Executives as everyone else is breaking up into committees. The first meeting for new members is on September 2nd.
5. Pay Membership Dues
Membership costs $75. You can pay dues in cash or check at a meeting (see Garrett Shaw) or online by clicking here. Please note that there is a two dollar discount if you pay in cash or by check.
